Exploration, Food and Building
This article is for Chevron TenThis page covers everything outside the tech chapters: exploring the world, staying fed and building a base worth coming home to. It follows the **Exploration** and **Farm to Table** quest chapters.
Part 1: Exploration
Chapter: Exploration
Step 1: New biomes
Quest: Brave New Biomes
Biomes O' Plenty and Regions Unexplored add dozens of new biomes. Find one you've never seen and tick the quest.
Step 2: Wildlife, loot and ruins
Quests: Wildlife Spotting · Finders Keepers · Ancient Remnants
| Quest | What to do | Mod |
|---|---|---|
| Wildlife Spotting | Find a creature you've never seen | Alex's Mobs |
| Finders Keepers | Loot a dungeon chest | Lootr |
| Ancient Remnants | Explore a new structure | Ember's Ancient Remnants |
Step 3: Treasure, villages and pillagers
Quests: Treasure Hunter · Village Watch · Pillagers Arise
- Treasure Hunter: Bring back a saddle from a dungeon or ruin chest.
- Village Watch (optional): Find a village protected by Guard Villagers. Guards fight off raids and mobs.
- Pillagers Arise: Pillagers have upgraded their tech with Create: Pillagers Arise. Defeat 10 Pillagers. Bring good armor.
Easy Villagers lets you pick villagers up and carry them like items, which makes building a trading hall much less painful.
Step 4: The Nether
Quests: Into the Nether → Blaze Hunter + Eyes of Ender
- Build a Nether portal and step through.
- Blaze Hunter: Collect 8 Blaze Rods from a Nether Fortress. You need them for Create Blaze Burners and for Eyes of Ender.
- Eyes of Ender: Craft 12 Eyes of Ender to find and activate the End portal.
Stargate builders: The Nether is the only place Red Crystal geodes generate. Grab some while you're there.
Step 5: The End
Quests: The End? → Dragon Slayer (finale)
- Throw Eyes of Ender to find a stronghold, then fill the End portal and jump in.
- Defeat the Ender Dragon. The finale gives 2,000 XP and a Netherite Ingot.
Stargate builders: The End is the only place Trinium Ore generates. Mine some for your Crystal Control Circuits, and keep that netherite ingot for your Capacitor Bank.
Part 2: Food
Chapter: Farm to Table
Step 1: Set up a kitchen
Quests: Sharp Start → Cutting Board + Stove → Cooking Pot
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Flint Knife | Slices food on the Cutting Board, and harvests straw from tall grass |
| Cutting Board | Place an item on it and use a knife to slice it |
| Stove | Cooks food placed on top, and heats a pot or skillet |
| Cooking Pot | Put it on a Stove to cook full meals and soups |
| Skillet (optional) | A frying pan that's also a weapon |
Why cook? Farmer's Delight meals restore more hunger and give buffs like Comfort and Nourishment. AppleSkin shows exactly how much each food restores.
Step 2: Automate food with Create
Quests: Chocolate Factory · Say Cheese · Daily Bread · Brain Freeze · Fine Vintage → Open for Business
| Quest | Addon |
|---|---|
| Chocolate Factory | Create More Chocolate or Create Chocolate Fountain |
| Say Cheese | Create: Cheese Factory |
| Daily Bread | Create: Bread and Beyond |
| Brain Freeze | Create: Ice Creams |
| Fine Vintage | Create: Winery |
| Open for Business (finale) | Create Cafe |
Make something with each addon, then brew a drink with Create Cafe to finish the chapter. The finale gives 500 XP and 16 Golden Carrots.
Tip: Search an addon's name in JEI, for example @create_cheese, to see everything it makes.
Part 3: Building
There's no quest chapter for building. These mods give you thousands of decorative options:
| Mod | What it does |
|---|---|
| Chipped | Workbenches that turn one block into dozens of decorative variants |
| Chisels and Bits | Carve blocks into tiny pieces for detailed builds |
| Handcrafted | Furniture: chairs, tables, beds, shelves and more |
| Create Deco | Industrial blocks, catwalks, doors and lamps |
| Create: Copycats+ | Blocks that copy the look of any block you put in them |
| Domum Ornamentum | Blocks that mix two materials in one block |
| JSG: Decoration | Stargate-themed blocks for your gate room |
Tip: FallingTree brings a whole tree down when you break the bottom log, and FTB Ultimine mines whole veins. Both save a lot of time when you're gathering building materials.
